Who We Are

Our practice brings together GPs, nurses, and allied health practitioners under one roof in Canungra, so that local families can access a broad range of healthcare without travelling to the coast or to Brisbane. We provide general practice consultations alongside dedicated services including skin checks, immunisations, iron infusions, women’s and men’s health, children’s health, chronic disease management, and mental health support. As a bulk billing practice, we make standard care accessible and affordable for eligible Medicare card holders, and we offer flexible appointment options including walk-ins, online bookings, and telehealth consultations for existing patients.

We are also proud to participate in MyMedicare, the Australian Government initiative that strengthens the ongoing relationship between patients and their regular GP and healthcare team, supporting more coordinated and continuous care over time.

Serving Canungra and the Scenic Rim

Canungra sits at the foot of the Lamington National Park range, in the heart of the Scenic Rim and the Gold Coast Hinterland. As one of the area’s bulk billing medical centres, we care for patients from Canungra itself and from surrounding communities including Tamborine Mountain, Beechmont, Wonglepong, Witheren, Boyland, and Eagle Heights, as well as patients travelling from Beaudesert, Nerang, and the wider hinterland.

Being part of a close community shapes how we work. We get to know our patients and their families over time, which supports continuity of care, better management of ongoing conditions, and a more personal experience than a large city clinic can offer. Visitors to the region, including those exploring Lamington National Park and O’Reilly’s, are also welcome to see a doctor while they are in the area, subject to availability.

Our Approach to Care

We take a patient-centred approach, which means we listen, explain options clearly, and involve you in decisions about your own health. Our focus is on prevention and early detection, because identifying and managing health concerns early can make a meaningful difference to long-term wellbeing.

For patients living with ongoing or complex conditions, our team works together across consultations, referrals, and management plans so that your care is coordinated rather than fragmented. Where specialist input or further investigation is needed, we guide you through the appropriate referral pathways.

Our Accreditation and Credentials

  • Accreditation status (for example, “Canungra Town Medical Centre is an AGPAL accredited general practice, measured against the standards set by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners”).
  • Year the practice was established.
  • Number of GPs, nurses, and allied health practitioners currently on site.
  • Any teaching, training, or registrar supervision roles the practice holds.
  • Languages spoken across the team (a genuine accessibility signal for the community).

If the practice is not currently accredited, this section can instead focus on the qualifications and Medical Board of Australia registration of the GPs, and the practice’s participation in MyMedicare, without making accreditation claims that cannot be substantiated.
